DAZMAC is fully licensed and accreditated with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (more commonly known as AQIS).
Australian DAFF is the most advanced and strict in the world. It is important when importing you understand your Quarantine obligations to avoid additional and unexpected charges which will be payable on arrival. This includes the correct documentation as well as permits which are applicable to some types of goods.
2nd hand boats, yachts, and all used watercraft are highly monitored by Quarantine and have mandatory inspections upon arrival. The DAFF officers will inspect the boat or yacht from head to toe and determine whether further treatment is required to meet there standard. This can include but is not limited to steam cleaning, fumigation, vaccuming or even termite inspection.
Used cars and road vehicles are also another highly monitored commodity which Quarantine looks at. All used vehicles (including motor bikes, caravans, ATV’s, off road bikes and any other driveable vehicle) will require an inspection upon arrival into Australia. Once again this initial inspection will determine whether firther treatment is required.
All used machinery (including bobcats, excavators, cranes or forklifts) require an AQIS used machinery permit. AQIS employ a “pre clearance scheme” on this type of commodity which is done before departure from the place of origin.
