VEHICLE CONDITION

There are 3 categories of condition for shipping purposes

* RUNNING
* ROLLING
* FORKLIFT

There is a cost for towing or fork lifting a vehicle onto a vessel. Please check prior to shipping.

1. COMPLIANCE
Before purchasing a vehicle you need to make sure it meets Euro 4 emissions standards and if it is an MC class vehicle it is
equipped with ESC (Electronic Stability Control). ESC will also be required for MA class vehicle over 2000cc inspected at the

NZ border from 1 March 2018 :

https://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicles/importing-a-vehicle/

http://www.transport.govt.nz/land/electronic-stability-control/

2. INSURANCE
If you are purchasing an accident damaged vehicle or stat write off vehicle we can only insure it for total loss. We try to perform
a gate in survey on all vehicles we ship but unfortunately for whatever reason this is not always possible due to the vehicles
location prior to shipping. If you require door to door insurance please contact us prior to shipping.

3. MISSING KEYS
In some cases when purchasing from Australian auctions keys are missing. We have automotive lock smiths available to
replace keys or open vehicles in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane at the vehicle owners expense. This is required in some
cases to get the vehicle odometer reading prior to shipping.

4. DEAD BATTERY OR NO BATTERY
In the case of no battery or a dead battery we can provide a new battery or attempt to charge a flat battery if required.

5. ODOMETER READING
Before a vehicle leaves Australia you must establish a correct odometer reading to supply NZ Customs on entry into NZ.
Without this the vehicle will be considered by both NZLTA Compliance and NZ Customs as parts only and cannot be complied
in NZ. Our depots will verify this on your behalf.

6. DAMAGED/FLAT TYRES
If a vehicle has a flat tyre we can organise repair or replacement so the vehicle can be shipped on a roll on roll off vessel, the
cheaper alternative to container shipping or fork lifting onto a roll on roll off vessel.

7. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED OR AIR BAG WARNING SIGNS
DAZMAC in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane can remove deployed air bags and we can also arrange for an auto
electrician to turn off the air bag system so the vehicle can be accepted for roll on roll off shipping providing the vehicle is
rolling. Port staff will not drive a vehicle with deployed air bags still attached to the vehicle or warning signs illuminated.

8. CRACKED OR SMASHED WINDSCREENS
It is important to replace cracked or damaged windscreens as a vehicle being border inspected with a damaged screen could
also be considered water damaged and could become very expensive to comply if considered water damaged by NZLTA
border inspectors. In some cases the inspectorate may request that all electrics including air bags be replaced in the vehicle
with new parts.

9. PARTS INSIDE A VEHICLE AND WORK PERFORMED IN AUSTRALIA
If a vehicle has parts inside it these must be declared on the NZ customs entry and supporting invoices provided. If a vehicle
has had work performed on it in Australia after purchase and prior to shipping this must also be declared and supporting
invoices provided. Failure to do so could result in a NZ Customs fine or even confiscation of the vehicle.

10. EXPORT QUARANTINE CLEANING
Roll on Roll off carriers do not accept dirty vehicles for shipping. Please ensure all visible soil and contaminate are removed
from the vehicle prior to shipping. This may also reduce any MPI costs on arrival in NZ.

11. PPSR
It is recommended that all vehicles have a PPSR check prior to purchase if possibly to ensure the vehicle has clear title has
not been water damaged. Water damage can contribute greatly to the compliance cost of a vehicle.

12. PRIOR TO PURCHASE
Please check the vehicle location prior to purchase as local transport in Australia can be very expensive, and please contact us for a quote if they are outside the metro areas.
